PURPOSE:To form a hard copy obtained by translating character information in an original into another language only by the copying of the original by applying a signalized translated result to a writing means for optically writing information in the surface of a photosensitive body. CONSTITUTION:Recognized character information is stored every certain volume and translated into Japanese on the basis of translation algorithm. The Japanese information obtained by the translation is stored in a line memory 58 through an optical fiber 52 and an interface 26. After transferring an yellow visual image to the photosensitive body 28, the photosensitive body 28 is destaticized, cleaned and uniformly charged by an electrostatic charger 30, so that the Japanese sentence is written at the writing position by a plotter 32 on the basis of positive-positive procedure without exposing the image. The electrostatic latent image is developed with black toner in a developing unit 34B, the developed image is transferred to transfer paper S and the transfer paper S fixing the visual image is discharged to the outside of the device.
