PURPOSE:To obtain the non-linear inductor having both reduced irregularity in magnetic characteristics and excellent reliability by a method wherein, utilizing a flexible cylindrical body consisting of heat-shrinking insulating resin material, a tape-like magnetic alloy is wound around an open magnetic circuit ferrite core covering the end face of said magnetic path. CONSTITUTION:A tape-like magnetic alloy 3 is wound several turns in axial center direction, and said winding is reduces by tightening into the ring of outside diameter smaller than the diameter of a flexible cylindrical body 4. The tape-like magnetic alloy 3 in the tightened state is inserted into the flexible cylindrical body 4 which is widened in the form of a convexed lens, and a composite cylindrical body 5 is formed when the tightened state of the tape-like magnetic alloy 3 is removed. Then, the composite cylindrical body 5 is loosely fitted to the outer circumference of the drum-shaped ferrite core 1 on which a winding 2 is wound around, and their lower end faces are brought in coincidence with each other. Then, when the flexible cylindrical body 4 is heated up and it is heat-shrinked, the tape-like magnetic alloy 3 is tightened, the drum-shaped ferrite core 1 is turned to the state of closed magnetic circuit, and the small-sized non-linear inductor having large inductance and high magnetic shielding property can be obtained.
