PURPOSE:To protect an image carrying body by providing a cover which is movable to a position for covering the surface of the image carrying body and a position shunted from said position, on a process kit which forms as one body the image carrying body and a process means so as to be attachable and detachable to and from the device body. CONSTITUTION:Notches 34, 35 are provided on slide plates 26, 27, a process kit 14 is loaded along a guide 15 of a body, and when the kit 14 reaches a prescribed loading position, a cover 18 is fitted to dowels 21, 22. When inserting or drawing out the process kit into or from the body, a lever 17 is at a position A, and the notch 34 of the slide plate 26 is fitted to the dowel 21 in a state that the cover 18 closes a transfer opening, covers a photosensitive drum 3 and is at a position for shielding light so that the light does not irradiate the drum 3. |
