The fire detector comprises a casing trough (1), a detecting insert (5), arranged in the casing trough (1), and a door (3) which is articulated, such that it can be folded down, on the casing trough (1) and has a window cutout (9) which is closed off by a glass pane (11) and through which a push button (7) of the detecting insert (5) can be actuated, even when the door (3) is closed. The detecting insert (5) is held releasably in the casing trough (1) by means of a snap-type connection (35). The snap-type connection (35) comprises two spring lugs (37) which engage between two protrusions (39) and are latched on latching shoulders of the protrusions (39). The latching tongues (37), preferably integrally formed on a guide casing (15) of the push button (7), are comparatively long and are loaded symmetrically when the snap-type connection (35) is released, this reducing the risk of rupture, with the result that the latching tongues (37) can be formed integrally on the plastic guide casing (15). <IMAGE>
