A heat-sensitive recording material having a base (support, carrier), a heat-sensitive layer applied thereto, which contains a dye precursor which is normally colourless or weakly coloured and a compound which can react with the precursor to form a dye, one or more interlayers and a protective layer, where at least one of the interlayers contains a latex and colloidal silicon dioxide.
