PURPOSE:To dynamically set any logical capacity and any type of disk devices to each drive by installing on a host system an instruction means capable of specifying a specific capacity and a disk device type with respect to plural drives and issuing said instruction in the host system. CONSTITUTION:The instruction means capable of specifying at least specific capacities 1- and disk device types A- are installed on plural drives DRVO-. By issuing the instruction in the host system CPU, any logical capacities 1- and any disk device type A- can be dynamically set to the drives DRVO- included in a semiconductor disk device. Thus the logical capacity and disk type of each drive can be dynamically set during operating the system, and simultaneously the semiconductor disk device of a different device type is set to simulate. |
