PURPOSE:To improve the positioning accuracy of a magnetic head and to perform fast positioning by inserting a collar for friction reduction into between friction surfaces of a magnet and a housing and attenuating the mechanical resonance of a positioning mechanism. CONSTITUTION:A supporting mechanism 18 consists of a part which generates a force for drawing the magnet 6 to a lower plate 21 by a bolt 12, a sleeve 13, and a spring 14, the collar 15 which supports the magnet 6 and serves as a friction surface, and a shim laid under the collar 15. The magnet 6 is supported by the supporting mechanism 18 so as to jog on the collar 15 and the material of the collar 15 is selected to decrease the coefficient of friction of the friction surface and improve slidability, thereby obtaining stable friction attenuation effect. Further, the mechanical resonance of the positioning mechanism is attenuated to improve the positioning accuracy of a magnetic head 10 and position the magnetic head at a high speed.
