PURPOSE:To reduce a processing time and the duration of a call by forming a storage means for storing the receiving capacity of a receiving side terminal correspondingly to a telephone No. and retrieving the storage means by a transmitting side terminal on the basis of the telephone No. of the receiving side terminal to detect the receiving capacity. CONSTITUTION:The storage means 8 checks whether the telephone No. concerned is stored or not. When the telephone No. is not stored, a receiving capacity inquiring device 6 inquires the receiving capacity to the receiving side fascimile terminal 2. An updating means 9 packs the telephone No., the inquired receiving capacity and the updating time and registers the packed contents in the leading address of a storage area of the storage means 8 as one using frequency. In this case, an up-to-data data are entered from the leading address of the storage area in the storage means 8. Thereafter, data are transmitted from a transmitting device 7 to the receiving side facsimile terminal 2.
