PURPOSE:To have a deflecting magnetic field of the desired distributed type as well as to reduce the extent of raster deformation, by setting the size of each groove to different sizes according to a position in a circumferential direction or a tube axial direction, and making the distributed type in the circumferential direction or that in the tube axial direction of horizontal and vertical deflecting magnetic fields into the desired distributed type. CONSTITUTION:Depths h1-h6 of each of grooves 21-26 are different in size according to a position in a circumferential direction, and also as to other quadrants, they are formed into X-axis and Y-axis symmetrical forms each, and each coil side of a horizontal deflecting coil 4a is housed in grooves 21-23 while of a vertical deflecting coil 4b is housed in grooves 24-26 and coiled respectively. thus, if circumferential groove depth is altered according to the circumferential direction, a deflecting magnetic field distributed type of the horizontal deflecting coil 4a comes to a pin cushion type being the strongest on the X-axis, while the deflecting magnetic field distributed type of the vertical deflecting coil 4b comes to a barrel type being the weakest on the Y-axis. And, as for the degree, size of each groove, namely, each sectional area is altered and winding numbers of the coil to be housed in the groove are altered whereby the deflecting magnetic distributed type in the circumferential direction is alterable to the desired form.
