PURPOSE:To insert a plate group into an outer jacket bag easily and accurately and to reduce the stay of excess electrolyte by making the inner dimension of an opening larger than the outer dimension of a plate group, but making the inner dimension of the plate group setting part similar to the outer dimension of the plate group. CONSTITUTION:When a plate group 1 is inserted into an outer jacket bag 3 from an opening 13 at the lower end, since the opening 13 has larger dimension than a plate group, the insertion of the plate group is easy. When the plate group 1 is farther inserted inward, it is guided by sealing parts 5B, 6B and 5C, 6C, and automatically and correctly positioned in the center of the bag 3. After that, a hole 8 is sealed and an electrolyte is poured, then the opening 13 is turned upward. Initial charge or container formation is performed, and a sealing part 14 is sealed, and the circumference is cut to form a lead-acid battery. Since the distance C2 between the sealing parts 5C, 6C and the plate group 1 in this battery is very small, the stay of excess electrolyte is reduced and the initial charge or container formation is effectively performed. |
