PURPOSE:To reduce the running cost by the great reduction in the quantity of water consumed by making it possible to use the lower water tank of the cooling tower concurrently as an overheated water tank for miscellaneous uses and utilizing the consumption of water for miscellaneous uses as it is for blowing of cooling water. CONSTITUTION:Since the lower water tank 16 of a cooling tower 5 concurrently used as an overhead water tank 6 formiscellaneous uses and an overhead water tank for digestion assisting use, it is made in a slightly larger size, and a water feed pipeline 17 from a tank 2 for receiving water for miscellaneous uses is connected to the water tank 11. Further, a pipe 18 for feeding water for miscellaneous uses to respective places is connected to the lower water tank 16 at a height position where the minimum quantity of water for cooling and the minimum quantity of water for degestion assisting can be secured. A cooling water distributing pipe 12 for a capacitor, an overflow pipe 13 and a drain pipe 14 are also connected to the lower water tank 16. By the construction as described above, the lower water tank 16 of the cooling tower 15 can be used concurrently as an overhead water tank for miscellaneous uses and an overhead water tank for digestion assisting, and cooling water of the lower tank can obtain an effect which is similar to that it is blown at every time by water constantly used as water for miscellaneous uses.
