PURPOSE:To obtain a specified cut face by generating lateral cracks surely as well as prevent the occurrence of breakage in the vertical direction by a method in which grooves are discontinuously formed at places where pressing is to be applied by a chisel in the outer peripheral face of the head of a concrete pile and a chisel is pressed on the grooves. CONSTITUTION:Discontinuous grooves 6 not reaching the internal reinforcing bars 8 are formed at places where the pressing of a chisel 5 is to be applied in the peripheral face of the head of a concrete pile P. When the chisel 5 is pressed on the grooves 6, a notched portion having a starting point in the grooves 6 spreads along the peripheral face of the pile P and develops further into the grooves 6 to form a specified cut face 9. The pile P is cut off at the face 9 into the upper and lower parts, and the upper part of the pile P is crushed by the chisel 5. Grooves 6 are further formed and then pressed by the chisel 5. Since lateral cracks can be surely generated thereby while preventing breakage in the vertical direction, a specified cut face can be formed.
