PURPOSE:To obtain a rubber composition suitable for the production of a high- impact styrene resin free of coloration due to heat hysteresis in the production process, by mixing a conjugated diene rubber with a specified phenolic stabilizer and an optical whitening agent. CONSTITUTION:100 pts. wt. conjugated diene polymer rubber (e.g., polyisoprene) or copolymer rubber comprising 70 wt. % or above conjugated diene and 30 wt. % or below aromatic vinyl monomer (e.g., styrene) is mixed with 0.001-5 pts. wt. phenolic stabilizer of the formula wherein R1-2 are each a 1-4 C alkyl and 0.0001-1 pt. wt. optical whitening agent, e.g., 2, 5-bis [5'-t- butylbenzoxazoline (2)] thiophene.
