PURPOSE:To shorten the continuity inspection time at the time of retesting by reducing the moving stroke in the case of retesting, by making it possible to control the moving stroke pressing a printed circuit board to be tested to a probe pin group in two stages. CONSTITUTION:In the continuity test of a printed circuit board, when continuity failure is detected, press minute falling instruction is issued in order to once separate the printed circuit board 26 to be tested from a probe pin group 22. A press 24 falls to the position shown by a broken line 24a on said instruction. The moving stroke L1 of the press 24 at this time may be adjusted to such a degree (about 5mm) as to separate the board 26 to be tested from the probe pin group 22. The moving stroke L2 of the press 24 from a position where the board 26 to be tested is pressed to the probe pin group 22 to the feed surface of said board 26 is taken relatively large (for example, 50mm) from the relation of the feed-in and feed-out of the board. As mentioned above, by making it possible to perform minimum necessary stroke movement in this manner, the testing time is shortened.
