PURPOSE:To perform a fatigue test by rotating a test piece at a high speed under high face pressure, by a method wherein two sets of upper and lower pairs of drive discs are parallelly arranged in left and right directions and step parts are formed to both sides of each disc in the axial direction thereof and the outer peripheral surfaces thereof are used as the drive surface of the test piece. CONSTITUTION:Step parts 16, 17 are formed to both sides of upper and lower pairs of left and right drive discs 10a-10d in the axial directions thereof at the same axial direction intervals so as to have diameters larger than those of the central parts of said discs 10a-10d and flange parts 18, 19 each having a diameter larger than that of each step part are formed to the discs 10a, 10d. A cylindrical test piece 30 and a mountain shaped test piece 32 are supported between the step parts 16, 17 so that the rolling surfaces thereof are contacted with said step parts 16, 17 and left and right drive discs are allowed to approach to be contacted with both test pieces. Next, both drive discs are rotated to opposite directions and both test pieces are rotated to reverse directions to perform a rolling fatigue test. Because the step part of each drive disc has a large diameter, high speed rotation is easy and, because of the spot contact of both test pieces, high face pressure can be applied by a load apparatus 28.
