A method of making a photographic support comprising electron bombarding a layer of hardened gelatine carried by a supoort material to lower the contact angle of the gelatine surface to less than 75 degrees. The support may be cellulose acetate, polyethylene terephthalate, polycarbonate, metal (e.g. aluminium) and glass. The gelatine coating may be hardened with formaldehyde or chromic chloride and may contain pigments and dyes.
