PURPOSE:To obtain a front glass having 7-28cm<-1> absorption coefficient for X-rays at 0.6Angstrom wavelength and producible by a floating method with improved productivity, by specifying the composition of the front glass of a display device. CONSTITUTION:A display device has a body opening at the front thereof and a plate front glass provided at the opening part of the body. The composition of the front glass is adjusted as follows; 55-80wt% SiO2, 0-4wt% Al2O3, 0-4wt% Li2O, 0-7wt% Na2O, 0-9wt% K2O, 1-10wt% CaO, 0.1-6wt% MgO, 0-10wt% SrO, 0-13wt% BaO, 0-5wt% ZnO, 0.1-2wt% CeO and 10.5-16.5wt% total of LiO2, Na2O and K2O.
