PURPOSE:To prevent recording paper from being uselessly discharged when it is restarted, by regulating a discharge length of the recording paper and controlling its feed out and rewinding on the basis of recording paper-point end position information. CONSTITUTION:A CPU11, if its restart is performed, reads recording paper-point end position information, immediately before the forced interruption, from a RAM13. Next the CPU11, by this position information, information of a position sensor 9 and a previously set value, decides recording paper 1 to be moved. Thus the CPU11 instructs the information of the decision result to a motor control part 17. The motor control part 17, receiving the instruction of advance information, drives a platen roller 3 on the basis of said instruction, and the CPU11, after it advances the recording paper 1 being left as it is in the discharge direction by a required amount, sets the point end of the recording paper to a fixed position required for recording the next picture information.
