PURPOSE:To obviate the unevenness and staining of an image by the flawing, chipping, denting, etc. in the part in contact with a roller provided to a toner supplying body or cleaning member by providing a protective film to the part of a drum having a photosensitive layer or dielectric layer against which the above-mentioned roller dashes on the outside periphery. CONSTITUTION:The protective film is provided to the surface part C of the photosensitive drum 1 to be touched by the roller 11 pivotally supported on the toner supplying body 7 and the roller 15 provided to a cleaning blade 14. The protective film is the photosensitive layer or dielectric layer of the drum 1 or the intermediate layer to be interposed between said layer and a drum base body and is formed of a least one resin coating layer. The intermediate layer is formed of PVA, polyvinyl methyl ether, poly-N-vinyl imidazole, ethyl cellulose, methyl celulose, ethylene/acrylic acid copolymer, casein, gelatin and polyamide.
