PURPOSE:To make it possible to confirm display contrast of a liquid crystal display element at low voltage and low power consumption even in a dark ambience by providing a reflecting panel formed of a light accumulating material on the back of a liquid crystal panel in which liquid crystal is sealed. CONSTITUTION:A liquid crystal display element 11 is provided with a liquid crystal panel 12 in which liquid crystal is injected and sealed, two polarizing plates 14 are combined to hold the liquid crystal panel 12 between on the surface and back of the liquid crystal panel 12. A reflecting panel 15 is provided on the back of the polarizing plate 14, and the reflecting panel is formed of light accumulating material. Thus, as light accumulating reflecting panels are combined, display in dark ambience can be confirmed utilizing merits, low voltage and low power consumption, of conventional liquid crystal elements. |
