<p>PURPOSE:To eliminate works requiring the precision and the labor such as sticking and cutting of polarizing plates by using masks having outside dimensions and inside dimensions of a normally displayed part to make the direction of orientation of the normally displayed part different from that of a display area on one glass substrate. CONSTITUTION:An orientation film consisting of a transparent resin or the like on a glass substrate 1 is oriented in the direction of an arrow A by the rubbing treatment or the like. A glass substrate 2 is subjected to the orienting treatment in the direction of an arrow B and is covered with the first mask 5 and is subjected to the orienting treatment again in the direction of an arrow C and is subjected to the orienting treatment in the direction of an arrow D, namely, the same direction as the arrow B with the second mask 6. The direction of polarization of a polarizing plate 3 is the direction of an arrow E, and a polarizing plate 4 is stuck in the direction of an arrow F in case of negative display and is stuck in the direction of a dotted arrow G in case of positive display.</p> |
