发明名称 METHOD FOR PREPARING SPECIMEN FOR SPECTROSCOPIC ANALYSIS OF HIGH SI ALUMINUM ALLOY
摘要 PURPOSE:To uniformly distribute proeutectic silicon in a finely pulverized state, by a method wherein molten aluminum having high silicon content is held at 750 deg.C or more for 10min or more prior to casting and cast in a casting mold held at 30 deg.C or less so as to obtain a thickness of 4-6mm. CONSTITUTION:Molten aluminum having about 20wt% of silicon added thereto is held at 750-780 deg.C for 10-30min and cast in a mold C held at about 20 deg.C. The mold C is constituted so that a gap of about 4-6mm is provided between an upper mold 1 having a sprue 4 provided to the central part thereof and a lower mold 2 and a water cooling jacket 3 for cooling the lower mold 2 is provided to the lower mold 2. By this mold, a specimen for spectroscopic analysis is prepared. Because molten aluminum is held at 750 deg.C or more for 10min or more, silicon particles become fine to be sufficiently melted and said molten aluminum is directly cast to be quenched and solidified. Because spectro scopic analysis can be performed within about 10min from the sampling of the specimen from molten aluminum, this method is effective for quality control when mass productivity due to a mold casting method is performed industrially.
