GLASS PANEL TO BE IRRADIATED WITH ELECTRON RAY AND RPODUCTION THEREOF

PURPOSE:To eliminate browning even on irradiation with electron rays, by substituting sodium ions on at least a surface to be irradiated with electron rays of a panel molded by using a commercially available soda line silica glass plate with potassium ions. CONSTITUTION:A commercially available soda lime silica glass plate is used to mold a panel, e.g. CRT, etc., which is then dipped in potassium nitrate at 440-480 deg.C for 0.5-3hr to substitute sodium ions on the panel surface with potassium ions. The substitution of the sodium ions in the panel is preferably carried out to give 6-15mu ultimate depth of the potassium ions into the panel.
