PURPOSE:To obtain clear two-color recorded images, by providing a layer of a first thermally transferrable ink and a layer of a supercoolable second thermally transferrable ink on a base in that order. CONSTITUTION:A thermal transfer layer 3 provided on a base 2 consists of a layer 3a of a first thermally transferrable ink which is not supercoolable and a layer 3b of a second thermally transferrable ink which is supercoolable. The first thermally transferrable ink comprises a coloring agent dispersed in a non-supercoolable heat-fusible binder (the word 'dispersed' includes the meaning of the word 'dissolved'), while the second thermally transferrable ink comprises a coloring agent similarly dispersed in a supercoolable heat-fusible binder. The non-supercoolable heat-fusible binder may be one of the binders conventionally used in thermally transferrable inks, e.g., spermaceti. The supercoolable heat-fusible binder may be an unsaturated polyester binder. |
