PURPOSE:To enable to supply a transfer recording material to a transferring position without generating any sag and prevent an image from being staggered, by a method wherein a guide part for supplying a transfer recording material to a transferring position while maintaining the material in intimate contact with a platen is so shaped that it has an arcuate shape substantially the same as the outside peripheral surface of the platen at a part thereof. CONSTITUTION:A transfer material 15 is supplied to the outside peripheral surface of the platen 10 faced to a recording head 11 in the condition of being pressed against the peripheral surface by transfer guides 61, 61, a transfer recording material is introduced between the platen 10 and the transfer material 15 along a guide member 65, is brought into intimate contact with the platen by pressing by a pressure roll 20, and a coloring agent of the transfer material 15 is transferred onto the transfer recording material to form an image. In this case, of the guide member 65 for guiding the transfer recording material to windingly fit the latter onto the platen 10, a part of a guide surface on the recording material supplying side is formed in an arcuate shape substantially the same as the outside peripheral surface of the platen 10. It is preferable to provide a construction wherein the guide member 65 is brought into contact with and separated from the platen 10 in accordance with the feeding direction of the transfer recording material. |
