PURPOSE:To prevent the appearance of welding nick on the outside of a chassis panel so as to reduce the weight making use of the composite plates by inwardly turning back the edge parts of the inside and outside panels of a chassis panel, superposed each other, and applying welding onto the restricted part of the turned-back part. CONSTITUTION:In a chassis panel, e.g., door panel 1, the inner panel 1b is formed from ordinary steel plates 3, and the outer panel 1a is formed from composite plates 2. The both panels 1a ad 1b are opposed each other, keeping a prescribed interval, and the welding of the both panels 1a and 1b is carried out in the restriction to the turned-back edge parts of the both panels 1a and 1b. though the welding nick 7 on the composite plate 2 appears on the inside of the door panel 1, no nick appears on the front side. Therefore, the inconvenience that the position of adoption of the composite plate 2 is limited because of the outside appearance is eliminated, and the reduction of weight of the chassis can be achieved by the adoption of the composite plates 2 in a wide usage.
