PURPOSE:To attempt the improvement in heat resistance of p-phenylene sulfide block copolymer film by melting a specified p-phenylene sulfide block copolymer to form a film and by heat-setting the film at a definite temp. after drawing it. CONSTITUTION:The polymer for preparing p-phenylene sulfide block copolymer film is substantially formed of the repeating units represented by the equation I and II and is a block copolymer where blocks consisting of an average no. of 20 to 5,000 of the repeating unit I exist in the molecular chains. The molar ratio of the repeating unit I in the block copolymer is in the range of 0.50 to 0.98 and the melt viscosity eta* of the block copolymer measured under the condition of 310 deg.C/the rate of shear 200sec<-1> is 1,000 to 15,000 poise. The glass transition temp., the crystalline m.p. and the crystallization index of the block copolymer are 20 to 80 deg.C, 250 to 285 deg.C, and 15 to 45, respectively. The percentage of heat shrinkage of the film prepared of the block copolymer at 100 to 220 deg.C is 0 to 2.0%. |
