PURPOSE:To reduce the hardware quantity compared with a system where the entire control is carried out by an LRU by dividing a buffer into plural blocks and using the LRU and an FIFO for replacement of selection of blocks and entries respectively. CONSTITUTION:When an access request is given to the information, a key part 11 of a buffer 1 is retrieved by a key corresponding to said information. When the corresponding key is obtained, the coincidence signal HIT is activated to deliver the address HEA of the coincident word. At the same time, the work information corresponding to the coincident entry of the part 11 is read out through a data part 12. The address HEA is delivered to a replacement control circuit 2 for replacement of the access information. If the corresponding key is not obtained, the signal HIT is inactivated. Here the allocation of the single word information designated by the output REA of the circuit 2 is released within the buffer 1. Then the information having an access request is allocated and the circuit 2 counts up an FIFO counter of a block containing the replace word.
