PURPOSE:To adjust the gap between a platen and a printing head or a card holder in multiple stages and simplify the entire construction, by enabling a carriage to be turned in an adjusting manner with a front shaft as a center by turning an adjusting member so that one of sliding faces thereof makes contact with a rear stay. CONSTITUTION:An adjusting member 26 provided with a plurality of sliding faces 27a, 27b in an angular relationship at the outer periphery thereof is fitted to a rear end of a carriage frame 11 so that it can be turned with an eccentric fitting shaft 22 as a center, and an arbitrary one of the sliding faces is placed on a rear stay 13 to elastically prevent it from being levitated. A carriage 10 is supported by the rear stay 13 and a front shaft 12, and can be turned in an adjusting manner with the shaft 12 as a center by appropriately turning the adjusting member 26 so that one of the sliding faces thereof makes contact with the rear stay 13. |
