PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a stable and uniform film having no streak or scratch at a high speed, by a method wherein a large number of doctor blades are arranged around a rotary shaft so that the leading ends thereof are specified in a radius of curvature and positioned at the same cylindrical surface. CONSTITUTION:A doctor blade apparatus is constituted so that, for example, 8 plate shaped projections 2 are formed to a columnar member 1 with a diameter D1 and the leading ends of the projections 2 are positioned on a cylindrical surface with a diameter D2. Each projection 2 is formed so as to have a thickness (t) of 0.3-20mm and a height L of about 0.5-100mm and the leading end thereof has a radius of curvature (R) of about 0.5-30mm and is processed into a R-shape. The diameter D1 of the columnar member 1 is set t about 20-200mm and, because the diameter D2 of the cylindrical surface is determined by D1+ZL, by making D2/2 larger than the radius of curvature R of the plate shaped projection 2, a thin film having no streak or scratch can be formed on a web in a uniform thickness.
