PURPOSE:To effectively suppress the inflow and outflow or air through an inlet and outlet, by arranging a plurality of exhaust fans sucking and exhausting air in a painting booth and selecting the exhaust capacity per one exhaust fan small to enable the fine adjustment of exhaust quantity. CONSTITUTION:An air supply fan 7 and exhaust fans 13a-13d are operated at the predetermined number rotations and, for example, 9,000m<3>/min of conditioned air is supplied to the plenum chamber 6 of a painting booth 1 from the air supply fan 7 to be made to flow down at wind velocity of about 0.5m/sec in zones 1a-1d through a filter 10. Then, operations is started so that air is exhausted out of the booth by the exhaust fans 13a-13d in the quantity corresponding to the supply quantity of conditioned air. In this case, because the exhaust capacity of each of the exhaust fans 13a-13d comes to 1/number of fans, exhaust quantity can be made variable so as to follow the extremely slight inflow and outflow of air from an inlet 4 and an outlet 5 on the basis of the detection of wind velocity sensors 15F, 15R.
