PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent collision, by providing a control means for stopping the movement of a spindle head when the distance to a hindrance in the moving direction of the head, which is detected by an ultrasonic device incorporated in the spindle head, is within a predetermined distance range, and for issuing an alarm. CONSTITUTION:When a spindle head 1 is moved in either one of directions of X-, Y- and Z-axes, an ultrasonic transceiver 2 corresponding to the advancing direction issues a signal to determine whether or not a hindrance is present within a predetermined distance range. Further, if there is no hindrance, a control device 3 drives a machine tool 4, and if a hindrance is there, an alarm 5 is energized and the machine tool 4 is stopped. Accordingly, then it is possible to prevent the main spindle form bumping upon a hindrance. |
