PURPOSE:To obtain am emulsifier generating no gelation even to a high activity solid powder and having excellent emulsifying force, by using a copolymer of at least one olefin selected from propylene and butene and vinyl acetate as a effective component. CONSTITUTION:At least one olefin selected from propylene and butene is copolymerized with vinyl acetate to obtain an emulsifier. For example, an equal amount of propylene and vinyl acetate are copolymerized to obtain a copolymer as the emulsifier. This emulsifier is added to a high activity solid powder (e.g., titanium white or alumina) in an amount of 0.5-5wt% to emulsify the same. The obtained emulsion product generates no gelation and has high thixotropy and is markedly reduced in the separation of a material in a solvent.
