<p>A magnetic head comprising a head body provided at its outer peripheral surface with a plurality of annular grooves, a plurality of magnetic elements connected to the corresponding peripheral surface portions positioned between the adjacent grooves, one or more magnetic exciters and a switching circuit for selectively connecting any pair of the two adjacent magnetic elements to the magnetic exciter. The head body of the magnetic head may comprise nonmagnetic body on which a plurality of magnetic areas disposed so that on the outer surface of the head body the magnetic areas and nonmagnetic areas are positioned alternately.</p> |
