PURPOSE:To differentiate the joined different constituent metals of bimetal according to color by subjecting one side of the bimetal to mechanical processing or chemical treatment so as to give different temper colors. CONSTITUTION:A metal causing higher expansion and a metal causing lower expansion are joined together by hot pressure welding or other method. The joined metals are cold worked and sintered. After only one side of the sintered body is subjected to mechanical processing or chemical treatment, the sintered body is formed into prescribed dimensions and heat treated to obtain bimetal having metallic surfaces which are different from each other in color.
