PURPOSE:To obtain an electrical steel sheet having an insulating film of a uniform thickness with good mass productivity by using a baked and electrodeposited varnish layer for the insulating film of the electrical steel sheet provided with the insulating film. CONSTITUTION:The rolled electrical steel sheet material 1 which is subjected to, for example, rolling and annealing is continuously immersed into a bath vessel in which electrodeposition varnish in an emulsion state is filled. A pair of counter electrodes 3 are provided on both sides of the steel sheet 2 in said bath vessel and about 10V DC voltage is impressed between the steel sheet 2 set as a positive polarity and the electrodes 3 set as a negative polarity, respectively. About 5A current is then conducted for about 1sec between these electrodes, by which the varnish layer having the desired 1-10mu thickness is obtd. The steel sheet 2 on which the varnish layer is electrodeposited passes an electric furnace 4 and is subjected to baking in the furnace and thereafter the steel sheet is cooled by a cooling fan 5 and is coiled. |
