PURPOSE:To improve the pointer replacement performance of an instrument greatly and to improve the indication performance by forming a movable magnet previously in such a shape that balance is easily adjustable and adjusting the unbalance of the movable magnet properly. CONSTITUTION:The shape of the movable magnet 5 of the movable magnet type instrument is so shaped that a balance adjustment is easy. Namely, when the magnet 5 is formed, numbers of small recessed parts 7 are formed on outer peripheral sides of the top and reverse surfaces of the magnet 5 and its balance is corrected by charging an adhesive 8 with which metallic powder is mixed. Therefore, the balance of the magnet 5 based upon a coupled pointer shaft is corrected after the magnet is formed and the magnet 5 is incorporated in the instrument while made unbalanced with the pointer shaft. Consequently, the pointer never deflects when the instruments is not in operation, so the current pointer position is held when the instrument stops operating.
