PURPOSE:To replace a waste toner container efficiently by inhibiting a waste toner fullness state from being detected even when an upper unit is open and a waste toner fullness detecting element is still on because waste toner does not return its original state in reloading until the number of times of image formation reaches a certain counted value from said time. CONSTITUTION:When the upper unit B is opened, a cleaner unit 3 slants, so the waste toner 34 in a waste toner container is dislocated and the waste toner 34 contacts the waste toner fullness detecting element 33. If the dislocated waste toner 34 does not returns to its original state when the upper unit B is put back, a waste toner fullness detection signal is still outputted although the waste toner container 31 is not full of the waste toner 34. In this case, a counter counts the subsequent number of times of image formation and when the counted value reaches the certain value, it is decided again whether or not the container is full of the waste toner. |
