PURPOSE:To obtain a lead frame tester with improved testing efficiency and reliability by testing a lead frame automatically with a camera and an image processor. CONSTITUTION:An object to be tested which is fixed on a jig 504 is transferred into the view of a camera 207a by the operation of servomotors 307 and 419. At that time, a pressing board 607 is retired upward by the operation of a cylinder 601 so as not to interfere the transfer. The position at which the object enters the view of the camera 207a from the X-direction is detected and the minute discrepancy of the object to the X-direction is detected by image processing to correct the discrepancy of the program of the X-direction. After the alignment correction of the object, an image processor 5 shifts the camera to the X-Y directions according to the previously programmed data and recognizes the appearance and existance of defects of the object by image processing to discriminate defective objects. In accordance with the results of the discrimination, the jig 504 transfers the good objects to an unloader hand 1b and the defective objects to an unloader hand 1c.
