PURPOSE:To contrive to make a shape thin as a whole, by forming the planar shape of a beam into an annular one and arranging an electromagnetic part main body so as to insert the same in the annular space of the beam and making the arrangement height of the beam equal to or less than the upper end of the electromagnetic part main body. CONSTITUTION:A beam 34 transmitting the load of an article to be weighed to an electromagnetic part main body 30 has a planar shape having an annular open space 34a provided to the central part thereof and the yoke 9 of the electromagnetic part main body 30 is arranged so as to be inserted in said space part. The load of the article to be weighed placed on a scale is transmitted to a front arm 6 through a support member 32 and further transmitted to a Roberval mechanism formed of the front arm 6, an upper auxiliary lever 1, lower auxiliary levers 2a, 2b and a frame 3 and also transmitted to the beam 34 cooperated with the Roberval mechanism through a hanging band 17 to revolve an displace the beam 34. The revolving displacement of the beam 34 is detected as electrical displacement by the electromagnetic part main body 30 to measure the wt. of the article to be weighed. By this constitution, the reduction in the thickness of a balance can be attained.
