PURPOSE:To simplify the working stage by providing an air reservoir on a thrust pad, and also fluting an oblique groove for making an air-flow flow into this air reservoir, on a fixed shaft. CONSTITUTION:An air-flow flowing into herringbone grooves 6, 6 of a fixed shaft 20 by a rotation of a magnet 10 works on an air-gap G between the outside peripheral surface of the fixed shaft 20 and the inside peripheral surface, as an air dynamic pressure, and supports a revolving shaft 7 in the radial direction. On the other hand, the air-flow flowing into an oblique groove R of the fixed shaft 20 flows into an air reservoir 18 of a thrust pad 17. By this air-flow, an air pressure in the air reservoir 18 becomes high gradually and floats up the revolving shaft 7 in the thrust direction. In this case, by floating of the revolving shaft 7, a face 17a of the thrust pad 17 and a face 19a of a thrust bearing 19 are separated from its contact, and a part of air in the air reservoir 18 flows out, but since the quantity of air flowing into the air reservoir 18 is large, the floating of the revolving shaft 7 can be maintained.
