PURPOSE:To attain a signal transmission for a long distance by providing a variable resistor circuit bringing automatically a large amplitude signal level at a short distance in an integrated circuit to a desired signal level. CONSTITUTION:The terminal impedance of a transmission line comprising an external component, the plural switch means and a resistor means supplying a reception signal to an external terminal P1 via an external circuit network including a fixed resistor means R2 having a large impedance to the termination impedance means based on a level discrimination circuit VC and a level discrimination output signal are formed in a semiconductor integrated circuit LSI. Then a signal level supplied to the external terminal P1 is set automatically to a desired level by the combination of the fixed resistor means R2 and internal resistors R3-R5. Thus, the reception of long range transmission is attained.
