PURPOSE:To expand the level margin by adding a differentiation signal and a reproducing signal while arranging the peak time position so as to reduce the amplitude decrease to a recording frequency thereby improving the S/N. CONSTITUTION:A reproducing signal inputted to a terminal 101 is inputted to a differentiation circuit 115 and a delay circuit 701, where the reproducing signal waveform 108 is overlapped near the peak of the inverted waveform 109 of the differentiation signal to attain a delay. Output signals 108, 109 of the circuits 115, 701 are added by an adder circuit 103 to improve the resolution, an output signal waveform 111 whose S/N is improved is obtained, the result is compared with a slice level 114 set by the circuit 105 at a comparator circuit 104, and when the waveform 111 is higher than the level 114, an H signal 112 is outputted and when lower, an L signal 113 is outputted respectively. The resolution and the S/N of the waveform 111 are improved in this way so as to widen the level margin.
