PAD COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To switch the connection between a terminal equipment and a PAD equipment by means of the software by using a command from the terminal equipment so as to allow a system control section of the PAD equipment to select a PAD function thereby establishing the communication control procedure of the PAD equipment. CONSTITUTION:The terminal equipment 1 and the PAD equipment 2 enter the procedure detection state as the initial state and the equipment 2 awaits a command from the terminal equipment 1. When the equipment 2 receives the command, the equipment 2 returns a response of the acknowledgement of command to the terminal equipment 1 and informs the communication procedure of the terminal equipment used for the actual communication to a system control section 2a in the equipment. The control section 2a receives the notice, selects the PAD function corresponding to the communication procedure and transits to the procedure establishing state. On the other hand, the terminal equipment 1 receives the acknowledgement response from the equipment 2 to enter the procedure establishing state thereby establishing a data link with the equipment 2. When the data link is established, the terminal equipment 1 sends the data to a packet exchange 3 as a packet via the equipment 2.
