PURPOSE:To obtain the titled inexpensive copolymer excellent in antistatic property, its retention, heat stability, solubility and moldability, by copolymerizing vinyl chloride with a substituted ammonio group-containing (meth)acrylic acid derivative and (meth)acrylic acid polyalkylene oxide ester. CONSTITUTION:Predetermined amounts of vinyl chloride (A), a substituted ammonio group-containing (meth)acrylic acid derivative (B) of formula I [wherein R1 is H or CH3, R2 is O or NH, R3 is a 2-6C (OH group-containing) alkylene, R4-6 are each a 1-6C alkyl and X is a halogen] and a (meth)acrylic acid polyalkylene oxide ester (C) of formula II (wherein R7 is R1, R8 is a polyoxyalkylene of a degree of polymerization of 2-33 and Y is H or a 1-6C aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbon group) are weighed out and are subjected to precipitation polymerization at 35-70 deg.C in a medium such as lower alcohol to obtain the titled copolymer containing 50-96wt% component A units, 1-10wt% component B units and 3-40wt% component C units. |
