Insulating panel for false ceiling, and method for the manufacture thereof

A panel for false ceiling of industrial premises is manufactured by dividing up a continuous strip made up of a mineral wool mat 6 having a mineral fibre nap 8 adhesively bonded onto one of its faces. The nap 8 is passed between a guiding cylinder 9 and a perforated coating drum 12. A scraper 16 pressed against the internal wall of the drum 12 forces adhesive 17 through the drum perforations so as to deposit it on the nap in the form of a network of adhesive spots 18. The nap 8 and mat 6 are then passed under press-rollers 19 which perform the adhesive bonding. This invention is used for providing the panels with good properties of permeability to gases, acoustic insulation, fire resistance and pleasing appearance. <IMAGE>
