PURPOSE:To attain the recording of high density and large capacity by rotating a plane mirror around the center of laser light incident on the plane mirror to use a minute beam spot for high speed scanning. CONSTITUTION:The laser light from a light source 101 is reflected by a mirror 106 rotated with a tilt of 45 deg. to the optical axis 111 via a polarized light beam splitter 113, a 1/4 wavelength plate 104 and converging lens 105 to form a spot 100 of nearly 1mu diameter on the recording medium 108 wound around the transparent cylinder in two-dimensional way. The mirror 106 uses transparent cylinders 106a, 106b and a reflection film 106c is formed on the contact face tilted by 45 deg. with respect to the axis center 111. Thus, the mirror 106 driven by a motor 107 is rotated at a high speed without friction against the medium 108 and optical recording with high density and high capacity is attained by using a minute spot. |
