PURPOSE:To obtain a high-purity product contg. no by-products which are formed by conventional process, by heating p-benzoquinone and a specified compd. in the presence of an oxidizing agent in an inert org-solvent. CONSTITUTION:p-Benzoquinone and a compd. of formula II (wherein R is a 1-4 C alkyl group) are heated in the presence of an oxidizing agent in an inert org. solvent to thereby carry out condensation and cyclization reactions, thus obtaining a dioxazine compd. of formula I (wherein R is as defined above). Preferred examples of the inert org. solvent are chlorobenzene, dichlorobenzene, nitrobenzene, alkylbenzenes, etc. Preferred examples of the oxidizing agent are sulfonic acid chlorides such as benzenesulfonyl chloride, methanesulfonyl chloride, etc. or sulfonic esters. The reaction temp. is 60-220 deg.C. |
