PURPOSE:To control the weight of a steering force to an optimum value under both a road condition and a driving condition, by a method wherein a road condition is computed as a first running index and the driving condition of a driver as a second running index, and both indexes are added to control a control current applied on an electromagnetic valve. CONSTITUTION:Unevenness in a steering angle detecting angle from a steering angle sensor 40 is decided by a phase deciding circuit 45, and a first running index showing whether a place where a vehicle is running is mountain road or city road is computed by the first computing means of an electronic control device 50. Based on a running information detecting signal from a car speed sensor 46, a second running index responding to the driving state of a driver is computed by the second computing means of the electronic control device 50. A control current is calculated from the first and the second running index, and the control current is applied on a solenoid driving circuit 61 of a steering force control means. This constitution enables control of a steering force to an optimum value according to a road condition and a driving condition. |
