PURPOSE:To eliminate the need to provide a time-voltage converter with linear characteristics and to enable even a simple circuit to be used by storing a memory means with relation data on the output voltage of the time-voltage converter to various pulse widths outputted by a variable pulse width generator, and utilizing data on those pulse widths and voltages for the correcting arithmetic of the nonlinearity of the time-voltage converter. CONSTITUTION:A processor 60 sends a signal to the variable pulse width generator 7, which outputs signals which differ in pulse width one after another to the time-voltage converter 1 through the contact (b) of a switch 8. The time- voltage converter 1 outputs a voltage according to its conversion characteristics and the voltage signal is digitized by an AD converter 5 and stored in the memory 61. The time-voltage relation data of the time-voltage converter 1 is stored in the memory 61 and then the switch 8 is placed at the side of a terminal (a). Consequently, the time-voltage converter need not have linear characteristics and may be a simple circuit composed of only a resistance and a capacitor.
